Kefalonia – Ithaca Geopark Headquarters
Kefalonia – Ithaca Geopark headquarters is located at the Center for Environmental Information, in Koutavos, Argostoli.
The Center for Environmental Information hosts a permanent exhibition on the natural environment of Kefalonia and Ithaca Geopark and on geology and fossild of Kefalonia-Ithaca Geopark. The exhibition is open to the public during working days and hours.
In the Center posters and information material are available, issued by the Region of the Ionian Islands, Kefalonia Municipalities, the Ministry of Environment and Energy, Environmental Organizations, and by the Natural Environment and Climate Change Agency
At the Center for Environmental Information citizens, visitors and especially pupils can get informed and become aware of the unique flora and fauna of the protected area, through a variety of actions including environmental education and organization of conferences and seminars. The environmental knowledge acquired should enhance their future active participation on actions targeting the protection, promotion and management of Kefalonia – Ithaca Geopark.
