Despite the adverse conditions due to cloudy weather, the first stargazing night of the International Dark Sky Park was a success without the efforts of the Park's friends and the staff of the Natural Environment and Climate Change Agency - NECCA!
With an initial introductory talk by Prof. Kokkalis on planets and celestial bodies and then with the observation of the Moon we guided/presented to the participants the value of the night sky as a natural resource for both biodiversity protection and human health! Rendezvous at the second star night on July 5 with the participation of the Astronomical Society of Patras "Orion" and DarkSky Greece - Greek branch of DarkSky International
The stargazing event on Mt Aenos was successful yesterday with the help of volunteers from Kefalonia. We observed the moon and some star constellations! Next event on 5th of July!
